New Year's Day Hang out

Originally I had plans to be out of town for New Year’s so I did not plan a new year’s eve get together.  Those plans have changed but I also realize it is a little too late to drop an official UY New year’s eve event on everyone because most of you have probably already made plans.  I did want to capitalize a little on everyone being out of school, so those who are in town and have nothing to do, we are going to get together on Wednesday to hang out and just have some fun together. We will meet at the building at 2:30, go bowling for a little bit, come back play games, eat pizza, ect.

Bowling price - $3.00 shoes, $2.75 a game.  If we have a certain number show up, there is a chance shoes will be free.

Pizza - $3.00

We will wrap things up at the building at 8:00pm.

Small group info

Ok, you are either:

1. Involved in the small group system for teens and parents
2. In a separate small group with your family
3. Have not found a connection with a small group as of yet.

If you are #2 you can skip on along to the next point below and have a great semester serving alongside your current small group.  #1 and #3, here is the deal.  This Sunday, January 5, we are relaunching our small groups for the semester.  If you have been active this past semester you know the drill.  If you never got involved in one or intended to, but drifted away, I want to invite you to highly consider joining us.  If you have any questions about it at all, I would love to engage in conversation about what it is we will be doing and the direction we will be heading.  I feel very strongly about where God is leading us with this and Im excited to see what is going to happen.  This Sunday, 6:00pm, teen room, food provided then a time of discussion, sharing, and prayer.

Wednesday Nights This Semester

Let me give this a little pre-explanation before I dive into the details on this one.  As I see it, it is my job to provide a church environment where your teenager can best develop a meaningful relationship with Christ that will lead them into eternity to be with Him.  I subscribe to the philosophy that this is done best through your families coupled with providing these teens with abundant resources of examples on what this looks like.

With that being said, over the next couple of months we are going to try something a little different.  Wednesday nights will be a time where you and your families, along with anyone else who would want to join us, will come together to worship, push each other, pray for each other, and get our hearts right for living out the life we are called to live.

On Wednesday, January 8th, at 6:30 in the teen room we will gather together to do this for the first time.  I will take that opportunity to really lay out what this is all about in detail as I think that will be better done in person.  If you teach or have other responsibilities, or have another class that you need or want to be a part of… please do that.  However, if you fall into the category that you were going to PEP or you weren't doing anything on Wednesday night, I want to strongly encourage you to at least show up to our first time together on that Wednesday night.  At times, there will be a guitar to guide our worship or focus on a song.  The subject matter and mindset of this time is about reaching people and self examining ourselves to see what we can do on a personal level to be a people that does exhibit an eternal perspective.

I want you to know this isn't just some flippant idea I came up with. I have spent a lot of time in prayer over this. I feel very strongly that God wants to take you guys and your families and do something powerful in this city and through that process teach your teens a little something about following Him.  I want you to know I have quickly grown to appreciate you guys and I love your kids with all my heart.  I am really excited to see what God has up His sleeve here.  If you want more details or have questions please feel free to call me anytime.
