Sunday Morning Class this week
All adult classes will be meeting together during Bible Class time this upcoming Sunday but the teens will meet as normal for their class in the teen room.

Sunday nights moving forward
We will not be meeting on Sunday nights for the remainder of August.  Stay tuned for details on Family Groups moving forward as they will fire up in September.

Wednesday nights moving forward
Teens will resume their Wednesday night gatherings starting in September as the fall semester begins.

A quick word about Camp and your kids

As many of you are aware, this past week we had the chance to get away for camp at Fall Creek Falls State Park.  I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.  Thank you for raising kids that are respectful, compassionate, well behaved, and seeking to deepen their relationship with Christ.  It was a really awesome experience to watch how well they encourage each other and loved one another in so many ways.  One of my favorite things to do is to watch someone who hasn’t been around this group get the chance to interact with them.  They always observe that something is different in the way they love each other, selflessly serve, worship and just generally get along.  I attribute this to you because awesome parents raise awesome kids.  So, thank you for making my job extremely easy.  It is a true blessing to be able to watch them grow and experience God more and more.  If there were a most awesome youth group competition, we could enter this group and with out a doubt, win the gold medal…. That’s because of you… keep doing what you are doing and I will keep praying that God move and work within your families!

Lake Day/Wedding Celebration Party - Saturday, August 3

This upcoming Saturday we will have our last lake day with a wedding celebration for Hunter Holland (former 2 time intern) and Andrew Pate mixed in.  Lake day will start at the standard 1:00pm and the party for Hunter and Andrew will start at 4:00 with dinner being served around 5:30.  For those of you who are close to and know Hunter, if you would like to provide them with a gift, they are registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target.  We will be stepping up the food game for this last one and need your help to provide either a green bean casserole or a hash brown casserole in a 9 X 13 dish.  If you are willing to help provide that, you can click HERE to sign up.  Also, everyone will need to bring a case of drinks and all families are invited!

Intern’s Going Away Party - Sunday, August 4 - 6:00pm - Teen Room

Summer is closing out and its time to say farewell and thank you to our interns who have done an excellent job this summer.  All families are welcome and dinner will be provided.  To help know how much food to prepare for it would be helpful if you took just a second to respond HERE so we know how many to expect.

The Abide that was scheduled for next Tuesday, August 6  has been postponed and will be rescheduled soon.

Abide #3 - Tonight - July 9 - 6:00pm

We will be gathering at the home of Alex Warren tonight for a time of worship.  The Warren’s address is 10436 Watermelon Road Tuscaloosa, AL 35406.

Lake Day - This Saturday, July 13 - 1:00pm-7:00pm

Everyone bring drinks to go in the cooler, girls bring a dessert item and guys bring a side item to go with the burgers and hot dogs.

Hang night #5 - This Sunday, July 14 - 6:00pm-8:00pm

We will be gathering at the building to hang out.  Dinner will not be provided for this hang night so they will need to eat before or can just bring something with them.

For those going to camp…. Details on what to bring and expect will be sent out later this week for those who have registered but just to help in planning ahead, the bus will be leaving from the church on Sunday, July 21 at around 10:00am.

Popsicles, Serve, lifejackets, hang, sing and retreat

Kidscamp Kick-off — Sunday, June 2 — 6:00pm

I just want to take a moment and try and clarify exactly what this is.  Each Family Group at our church has been encouraged to pick a location somewhere in our city to host an event designed to come in contact with the people in that community.  The idea is that we use this time to talk to and invite kids to our Kidscamp the upcoming week.  The UY family Group (teens) and the Boykin Family group (Some of the parents of teens) will be going to Airport Park (link to directions in google maps HERE) to hand out popsicles, gifts and invite cards to the people there.  Although this is a family group gig, obviously anyone who wants to join us is welcome.  We will just meet there at 6:00pm and should only be there probably 30-45 minutes I’m guessing.   If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.

Kidscamp — June 3-6 — 6:00pm-8:00pm each night

Kidscamp is next week and teens have been encouraged to use this as an opportunity to serve those younger than them.  They can still sign-up to serve HERE, however the deadline to receive a free T-shirt has passed.  This should be a great way for them to learn what it means to sacrificially serve!

Lake Day #1— Saturday, June 8 — 1:00pm-7:00pm

All Families are invited to join us at Sunshine pointe for our first official Lakeday.  Guys bring a side dish of some sort and girls bring a dessert… everyone brings a pack of drinks to go in the cooler.  Burgers will be served at 5:00pm.

Hang Night #1 — June 9 — 6:00pm-8:00pm

This is simply the teens getting together to eat and hang-out. They should bring $3 to help cover the meal.

Abide #2 — June 11 — 6:00pm

We will be having a night of worship at the Boykin home.
